Why this database and who is this for?

A successful in-car livestream starts with having reliable data network service all around the racetrack, unfortunately, it's not a given at every racetrack. Knowing what to expect ahead of time is very useful as it helps determine which service provider, live streaming equipment and settings will give you the best outcome, and if it's even worth trying.

This public database was designed for and by racing teams to keep track of and consolidate the "streamability" of racetracks around the world. We started with scoring the tracks we streamed from over the last year or two (mainly in the US and Canada) and added more feedback received from other racing teams. Each record currently includes:

  • The Internet Service Provider (ISP) and equipment used (camera, hotspot, encoder, etc)
  • An averaged "Streamability Score" ranging from "No Service (0/5)" to "Excellent (5/5)"
  • Additional comments from the team
